Christmas Events in Greenwich

In addition to our own Advent Windows, Greenwich really comes alive with the Christmas spirit in December. Below is a listing of some of the events that will be occurring alongside our Advent Windows project. Be sure to visit!


“Cinderella” at Greenwich Theatre

The legendary panto at Greenwich Theatre is back, this time telling the tale of Cinderella. Fun for all the generations of your family. For more information or to buy your tickets (Act quickly! They sell fast!), click here.

Greenwich Winter Time Festival

New for 2017, a festival at the Old Royal Naval College featuring ice skating, a Christmas market, food stalls, music, and a visit with Father Christmas. Open from 1 December to 31 December.

Late November

Greenwich Market Lantern Parade & Christmas Lighting Ceremony

At Greenwich Market, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A beloved tradition featuring local schoolchildren with lanterns they have made themselves. Specific date to be announced later.

St. Alfege Church Advent Service, 6:30 p.m.

The first day of Advent is celebrated at St. Alfege Church with this special celebration at 6:30 p.m. The service will be followed by mulled wine and mince pies.

Sunday, 10 December

Pantomime Horse Race

Surely this is one of the more unusual ways to celebrate the Christmas season. Pantomime horses and creatures race from pub to pub in Greenwich.

Dates to be Announced

Royal Hill Christmas Fayre, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fabulous shops of Royal Hill host this special afternoon Christmas fair, with samples, mulled wine, mince pies and holiday cheer aplenty. The window of Karen Woolven flowers also will be revealed that day.
