Waiting

James Wolfe Primary School, Royal Hill Campus

Randall Place, Greenwich, SE10 8RZ

During the month of December, there is much anticipation for the arrival of Christmas for children and adults alike. People wait for many things, some use this time to celebrate the lead up to the birth of Jesus, other anticipate being reunited with family and friends. People use this day to celebrate, while others wait for peace and harmony within our global community.

This year we are thinking of those who rely on and wait for the generosity of others. James Wolfe Primary School is planning visits to our local care home and organising a food bank. This demonstrates to the children in our school the importance of helping others and serving our community, just as Jesus did.

Our window shows the 25 days in the countdown to Christmas, and will include symbols of peace and the celebration of Christmas, which for many children, is one of the most special times of the year.

The window will be ready by 3 p.m. on 3 December. The children will be singing Christmas carols to open the window.

The window is best viewed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. After the school closes, you’ll be able to see the windows from Royal Hill during the day.
