From Big Ben to SE10

Art Made by St. Ursula’s School

68 Crooms Hill, Greenwich, SE10 8HG

img_9596Our Ladye Star of the Sea & St. Ursula’s School are pleased to share St. Alfege Church Advent Windows for 2016. Our window can be seen at the Presbytery of the church on 68 Crooms Hill. Our Ladye Star of the Sea has architectural features designed by Augustus Pugin– the renowned architect from the 1800s. He created the stained glass window and furnishings in the church. Most famously, Pugin designed the tower for Big Ben, which has become a famous landmark across the globe and an iconic clocktower associated with New Year celebrations.

We are building a freestanding, glowing clock tower that will stand in the bay window linking OLSS with Big Ben. The artwork was completed by the school’s art department with assistance from the St. Ursula’s students.

Best viewed in the evening.
