15th December – 46 Devonshire Drive, SE10 8JZ. “Glorious Animals” opening at 430pm.

The window will celebrate ‘glorious animals’, furry, funny and extraordinary. Any glimpse into the life of an animal makes our own so much the larger and better in every way. There will be mulled wine and mince pies with donations to an animal charity and St Alfege’s.

16th December – Number 16, St Alfege Passage. “Fly with Wings” opening at 6pm.

An installation to celebrate the millennium of St Alfege and the Olympics in Greenwich. Drinks and nibbles…..giddy up!

17th December – Minerva Antiques, 90 Royal Hill, SE10 8RT. “Angels of Glory” opening at 4pm.

A display designed and created by the children of Greenwich to celebrate the Spirit of Christmas. Mulled wine and mince pies.

18th December – Pickwick Papers, 6 Nelson Road, SE10 9JB. “Colouriffic!” opening at 6pm.

Celebrating the colours of life…how interesting!

19th December – 30 Crooms Hill, SE10 8ER. “Passing Glory” opening at 6pm.

The magnificent but fragile glories of the world around us, explored through graphics, images and light. Drinks will be served and donations invited for St Alfege’s restoration appeal.

20th December – 4 Egerton Drive, SE10 8JS. “A glory to behold” opening at 430pm.

Illuminated foils with champagne and mince pies.

21st December – 51 Hyde Vale, SE10 8QQ. “Reflected Glory” opening at 630pm.

Made by a multi-generation team from found and recycled objects and glitter, this window will celebrate how many share in and enable the glory of a few.

The children of St Alfege Sunday School explore the theme of advent using their own words to express the joyful message that the angels bring against the traditional images of angel wings and trumpets.

The window depicts the vision which St Alfege had on the eve of his martyrdom, as described in Osbern’s Life of Alfege, when St Dunstan and a host of angels transformed his prison cell into a place of glory.
